I offer both counseling and coaching services.
Most of my clients enter into a counseling relationship with me initially. From this point, many of clients begin the journey of coaching with me. This allows the client to receive therapeutic support, while transitioning into a coaching relationship. This overall process gives the client the level of guidance that he or she needs in his or her everyday life.
- Individual Therapy: Individual therapy refers to counseling sessions with one client and one therapist. Individual sessions with a counselor average about 45 minutes to one hour long. The most popular form of therapy, individual therapy may encompass many different treatment styles including cognitive behavioral therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy examines thoughts, feelings and behaviors and the relationships and patterns between them. With this particular mode of therapy, the therapist works with the client to set goals for coping with problems in the client’s life. This process may involve replacing negative thought patterns with positive ones. Furthermore, the goal may be steps to take to face a specific fear, such as driving on the highway.
- Couples Therapy: Couples therapy involves a therapeutic process of resolving challenges and conflicts that couples have not been able to handle effectively on their own. This process involves the couple sitting down with a trained professional to discuss their thoughts and feelings. The aim is to help them gain a better understanding of themselves and their partner, to decide if they need and want to make changes, and if so, to help them to do so.
